HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 165
BY REPRESENTATIVES MIKE JOHNSON AND HENRY B URNS
A RESOLUTION
To commend Katie Walker, a native of Bossier City, Louisiana, for her performance in 8
Days.
WHEREAS, 8 Days is the story of a teenage girl who attends a party, is drugged and
raped, and is taken into the horrific world of human trafficking; and
WHEREAS, Katie Walker delivers an exceptional performance in the film, in which
she plays the teenage girl's mother; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Walker is a native of Bossier City, Louisiana; she is a graduate of
Airline High School and is the loving wife of Todd Walker, who is also a native of Bossier
City and a graduate of Airline High School, a former LSU baseball player, and a ten-year
major league baseball player; and
WHEREAS, proceeds from the film are given to anti-trafficking organizations to
build and expand safe houses for survivors of human trafficking; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Walker has a passion to fight against human trafficking and through
her love for acting, she is furthering her work to raise awareness of the fight against those
who commit heinous crimes against young people.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Katie Walker, a native of Bossier City,
Louisiana, for her performance in 8 Days and does hereby express to her sincere
appreciation for the honor and esteem she has brought to Bossier City and the state of
Louisiana through her inspired work in this unforgettable film.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Katie Walker.
