COMMENDATIONS: Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable Joel C.
Robideaux, former speaker pro tempore, for his outstanding legislative service and
recognizes his contributions to his district and the state
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable Joel C. Robideaux and to express enduring gratitude for his
3 outstanding contributions to Lafayette Parish and the state of Louisiana, particularly
4 during his tenure as a distinguished member and speaker pro tempore of the
5 Louisiana House of Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, Joel Robideaux is a notable public servant who has served with
7excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2004, during which time he has
8fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of his district and the state in an honorable
9and dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, a graduate of Our Lady of Fatima High School in Lafayette,
11Representative Robideaux received a bachelor of science degree from the University of

1Southwestern Louisiana, now known as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a
2master of science degree from Louisiana State University; and
3 WHEREAS, Representative Robideaux has been a proud member of the Acadiana
4Delegation, the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation, and the Louisiana Rural
5Caucus; and
6 WHEREAS, Representative Robideaux's diligent committee service has included
7serving as the chairman of the House Committee on Retirement and the House Committee
8on Ways and Means, and he has served as a member of the House Committee on Civil Law
9and Procedure, the House Committee on Natural Resources, the Joint Legislative Committee
10on Capital Outlay, the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget, and the State Bond
11Commission; and
12 WHEREAS, Representative Robideaux served with great effectiveness and
13distinction as speaker pro tempore from 2010 until 2012; and
14 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative
15Robideaux has worked on and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
16 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
17of his life, Representative Robideaux merits a sincere measure of commendation for his
18singular contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of
19the Louisiana House of Representatives.
20 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
21Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Joel C. Robideaux; does
22hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments,
23particularly during his tenure as a member and speaker pro tempore of the Louisiana House
24of Representatives, which has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the
25welfare of his constituents in Lafayette Parish and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and
26does hereby pay tribute to him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated
27his intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
29expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Robideaux for his service to the citizens of
30Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished

1body, and hereby extends to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
2prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
4to the Honorable Joel C. Robideaux.
