HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 173

A RESOLUTION
To commend the LSU Eunice baseball team upon winning their fifth Division II National
Junior College Athletic Association World Series.
WHEREAS, the LSU Eunice Bengals baseball team completed a sensational 2015
season in the Division II National Junior College Athletic Association World Series; and
WHEREAS, the LSU Eunice Bengals captured a 16-1 victory against Western
Oklahoma in the thrilling championship game; and
WHEREAS, the top-seeded Bengals defeated Western Oklahoma in two games
before winning their fifth national championship in thirteen seasons under the guidance and
leadership of Head Coach Jeff Willis; and
WHEREAS, the members of team performed at the highest levels of excellence, and
each Bengal deserves recognition for his vital contributions throughout the season; the
members of the 2015 LSU Eunice Bengals baseball team include Zach LaFleur, Cade Stone,
Travis Cliburn, David Lafleur, Janson Bourque, Trey Caswell, Landon Presnall, Turner
Francis, Jesse Lee, Evan Richardson, Nick Coomes, Jacob Barton, Will Watson, Hayden
Guidry, Evan Kissinger, Sam Walley, Mark Fontenot, Jr., Trenon Trosclair, Haden Shipman,
Madison Nickens, Clay Moffitt, Mitch Sewald, Zack Hamilton, Steven Sensley, Jordan
Romero, Erin Baldwin, Brennan Bozeman, Nick Duthu, Ben Braymer, and Joe Trahan; and
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved
without Jeff Willis, athletic director and head coach, Alan Orgain, assistant coach, Javier
Solis, assistant coach, and Kade Keowen, assistant coach; and
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding 2015 season upholds the glorious tradition of the
Bengals, and all LSU Eunice alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and distinguished
honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the LSU Eunice baseball team upon winning
the 2015 Division II National Junior College Athletic Association World Series and does
hereby extend best wishes to the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine
baseball program as they celebrate their fifth national title and prepare for continued success
in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Jeff Willis, athletic director and head baseball coach for the LSU Eunice Bengals.
