HLS 15RS-4532 ORIGINAL 2015 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 181 BY REPRESENTATIVE JONES COMMENDATIONS: Commends Rose Mae Vidos Broussard for her many achievements and contributions 1 A RESOLUTION 2To commend Rose Mae Vidos Broussard for her many achievements and contributions 3 throughout her well-lived life. 4 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Rose Mae Vidos Broussard for her many 5achievements and contributions during more than eighty years of service and involvement 6in improving her community, her hometown of Franklin, St. Mary Parish, and the state of 7Louisiana; and 8 WHEREAS, Rose Mae Vidos Broussard was born on November 18, 1930, in Morgan 9City in St. Mary Parish; and 10 WHEREAS, she has been a lifelong resident of Louisiana and has spent most of her 11life in St. Mary Parish, where she currently resides; and 12 WHEREAS, at the age of eighteen, she married Beverly Bernard Broussard; the 13couple lived in Franklin and enjoyed nearly fifty-eight years of love and companionship until 14the death of Mr. Bernard in November of 2006; and 15 WHEREAS, in her efforts to improve her community and the state of Louisiana, 16Rose Mae Vidos Broussard worked on many issues, including civil rights, affordable 17housing, and affordable and indigent health care services; and 18 WHEREAS, she is the loving mother of Shelly Lynn Broussard and Roxanne E. 19Broussard, and the proud grandmother of five children and seven great-grandchildren; and Page 1 of 2 HLS 15RS-4532 ORIGINAL HR NO. 181 1 WHEREAS, Ms. Broussard merits a special measure of commendation for the great 2pride and honor that she brings to her community, her hometown of Franklin, St. Mary 3Parish, and the state of Louisiana. 4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 5Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Rose Mae Vidos Broussard for her many 6achievements and contributions and does hereby recognize and record for posterity her 7incredible efforts and steadfast commitment to improve her community and the state that 8will forever inspire the citizens of St. Mary Parish and the state of Louisiana. 9 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted 10to Rose Mae Vidos Broussard.
