COMMENDATIONS: Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable Gordon E.
Dove, Sr., for his outstanding legislative service and recognizes his contributions to
his district and the state
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable Gordon E. Dove, Sr., and to express enduring gratitude for his
3 outstanding contributions to the parishes of Lafourche and Terrebonne and the state
4 of Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member of the
5 Louisiana House of Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, Gordon Dove is a notable public servant who has served with
7excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2004, during which time he has
8fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of his district and the state in an honorable
9and dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, a graduate of Terrebonne High School, he attended Nicholls State
11University; and

1 WHEREAS, Representative Dove has been a proud member of the Acadiana
2Delegation and the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation; and
3 WHEREAS, Representative Dove's diligent committee service has included serving
4as chairman of the House Committee on Natural Resources and Environment, and he has
5served as a member on the House Committee on Municipal, Parochial and Cultural Affairs,
6the House Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works, and the House
7Committee on Enrollment; and
8 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Dove
9has worked on and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
10 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
11of his life, Representative Dove merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
12contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of the
13Louisiana House of Representatives.
14 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
15Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Gordon E. Dove, Sr.; does
16hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments,
17particularly during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which
18has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents
19in the parishes of Lafourche and Terrebonne and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and
20does hereby pay tribute to him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated
21his intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
23expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Dove for his service to the citizens of
24Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
25body, and hereby extends to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
26prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
28to the Honorable Gordon E. Dove, Sr.
