COMMENDATIONS: Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable James R.
"Jim" Fannin for his outstanding legislative service and recognizes his contributions
to his district and the state
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable James R. "Jim" Fannin and to express enduring gratitude for his
3 outstanding contributions to the parishes of Bienville, Jackson, Lincoln, Ouachita,
4 and Winn and the state of Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a distinguished
5 member of the Louisiana House of Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, Jim Fannin is a notable public servant who has served with excellence
7as a state representative since taking office in 2003, during which time he has fully used
8every opportunity to serve the citizens of his district and the state in an honorable and
9dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, a graduate of Winnfield Senior High School, Representative Fannin
11received a bachelor of science degree from Louisiana Tech University; and

1 WHEREAS, Representative Fannin has been a proud member of the Louisiana
2Republican Legislative Delegation and the Louisiana Rural Caucus; and
3 WHEREAS, Representative Fannin's diligent committee service has included serving
4as the chairman for the House Committee on Appropriations and the Joint Legislative
5Committee on the Budget, and he has served as a member of the House Committee on
6Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture and Rural Development, the House Committee on
7Education, the House Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works, the House
8Committee on Commerce, the House Committee on Natural Resources, the House
9Legislative Services Council, the Legislative Budgetary Control Council, the Joint
10Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay, and the State Bond Commission; and
11 WHEREAS, during his time in the Louisiana House of Representatives,
12Representative Fannin has worked on and supported many important pieces of legislation,
13including but not limited to state appropriation bills; and
14 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
15of his life, Representative Fannin merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
16contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of the
17Louisiana House of Representatives.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
19Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable James R. "Jim" Fannin; does
20hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments,
21particularly during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which
22has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents
23in the parishes of Bienville, Jackson, Lincoln, Ouachita, and Winn and the citizens of the
24state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay tribute to him for the generous and effective way in
25which he has dedicated his intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends,
26community, and state.
27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
28expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Fannin for his service to the citizens of
29Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished

1body, and hereby extends to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
2prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
4to the Honorable James R. "Jim" Fannin.
