BY REPRESENTATIVES BARROW, BERTHELOT, CARTER, EDWARDS, FOIL,
HAVARD, HODGES, HONORE, IVEY, JAMES, LAMBERT, MACK, OURSO,
PONTI, POPE, PRICE, SCHEXNAYDER, SMITH, ST. GERMAIN, THIBAUT,
AND ALFRED WILLIAMS
COMMENDATIONS: Commends One Voice One Dream One Team, the organizers of the
Pack the Park event
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend One Voice One Dream One Team, the organizers of Pack the Park.
3 WHEREAS, in 2007, after spending a night on the town, Durell and Tarj Hamilton
4were shot in their driveway by two unknown assailants, and the two newlyweds had to
5recover from life-threatening injuries; and
6 WHEREAS, while rebuilding their lives, the courageous couple began the
7organization, One Voice One Dream One Team; this organization consists of devoted family
8members and friends of criminals and victims of crime; and
9 WHEREAS, in 2010, the organization began what is known as Pack the Park, which
10is an annual event held in crime-stricken neighborhoods every year on the last Saturday in
11June; and
12 WHEREAS, the main goal of this event is to bridge the gap between the community
13and law enforcement; and
14 WHEREAS, this year marks the sixth year for Pack the Park and the event will be
15held at the Gus Young BREC Park on Saturday, June 27, 2015.
16 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
17Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend One Voice One Dream One Team,
18organizers of the Pack the Park event and does hereby recognize and record for posterity the
19outstanding works of the organization.

1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
2to Durell and Tarj Hamilton, organizers of One Voice One Dream One Team.
