COMMENDATIONS: Commends the members and coaches of the Lutcher High School
girls' powerlifting team upon winning the 2015 Division II Class 4A state
championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend and congratulate the lifters and coaches of the Lutcher High School girls'
3 powerlifting team for winning nine consecutive Division II Class 4A state
4 championships from 2007 to 2015.
5 WHEREAS, it is with great pride that the citizens of Louisiana and the House of
6Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana recognize and record the significant
7achievements of the members of the Lutcher High School girls' powerlifting team over the
8past nine seasons, each of which culminated in the Lady Bulldogs winning the Division II
9Class 4A state championship; and
10 WHEREAS, the latest installment in the amazing succession of championship
11seasons occurred on March 20, 2015, when the Lutcher High School girls' powerlifting team
12once again captured the Division II Class 4A state championship title; and
13 WHEREAS, lifters Amyri Davis, Jasmine Davis, Delanie Hamilton, Melanie
14Louque, Jacey Milton, Bethany Plaisance, Hannah Poche, China Storks, Ashley Tucker,
15Victoria Vicknair, and Jaydah Young, and managers Cassie Guidry and Alexis Laiche are
16all commended for their determination and dedication to the sport of powerlifting and for
17winning the 2015 Division II Class 4A girls' championship; and
18 WHEREAS, head coach Kelly Magendie and assistant coaches Jon Magnesia and
19Michele Poche have instilled in their lifters the kind of leadership and motivational skills
20needed to achieve great success both on and off the powerlifting floor; and

1 WHEREAS, the Lutcher High School girls' powerlifting team has imparted a sense
2of honor and immense pride to the school, the town of Lutcher, and the state of Louisiana
3that will forever be remembered.
4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
5Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate the lifters and coaches of
6Lutcher High School and does hereby offer best wishes to the young women who have
7created a unique legacy of lifting at Lutcher High School.
8 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
9to head coach Kelly Magendie.
