COMMENDATIONS: Commends Eileen Barthe, the face of United Way in Plaquemines
Parish, upon her retirement
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Eileen Barthe upon her retirement from United Way in Plaquemines Parish.
3 WHEREAS, Eileen Barthe is recognized as the face of United Way in Plaquemines
4Parish; and
5 WHEREAS, for fifteen years, she has served as United Way of southeast Louisiana's
6resource development director; and
7 WHEREAS, "Miss Eileen" is recognized for her smile and cheerful and determined
8attitude as she serves the people in Plaquemines Parish; and
9 WHEREAS, in 1977, she began a career at Chevron, where she was one of the first
10women to work in a petrochemical plant; while at Chevron, she volunteered to be a United
11Way campaign coordinator, and for eighteen years, she educated the company's staff on the
12needs of the community and how United Way supports programs that help people of all ages
13and from all walks of life; and
14 WHEREAS, Ms. Barthe will be remembered for her passion to help others through
15the United Way in Plaquemines Parish; and
16 WHEREAS, Eileen Barthe merits a special measure of commendation as she retires
17from the United Way in Plaquemines Parish and begins the next chapter in her life.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
19Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Eileen Barthe upon her retirement as the
20resource development director for United Way of southeast Louisiana; does hereby
21recognize and record for posterity her outstanding accomplishments and manifold

1contributions; and does hereby extend enduring appreciation for the pride and honor that she
2brings to her family, friends, and community, her colleagues at United Way in Plaquemines
3Parish, and the state of Louisiana.
4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
5to Eileen Barthe.
