COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Buras Volunteer Fire Department and its 2015
Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Buras Volunteer Fire Department and its 2015 Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off.
3 WHEREAS, the Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off is a charitable event sponsored by the
4Buras Volunteer Fire Department; and
5 WHEREAS, the purpose of the Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off is to raise funds for the
6Buras Volunteer Fire Department, which are used for improvement projects within the fire
7department and other community activities, such as purchasing small equipment items, in
8house training, fire prevention at local schools, summer camps, vacation bible school, the
9Fourth of July fireworks display, National Night Out against Crime, the local high school
10homecoming parade, the Halloween Trick or Treat Extravaganza, the lighting of the
11community Christmas tree, the community Christmas parade, the Christmas angel display,
12and to maintain the American Flag on Cazezu Drive; and
13 WHEREAS, the Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off provides entertainment and competition
14for those in the community of Buras; and
15 WHEREAS, the Buras Volunteer Fire Department merits a sincere and heartfelt
16measure of commendation for the tremendous pride and honor that the Oilfield Crawfish
17Boil-Off brings to the city of Buras and the state of Louisiana.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
19Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Buras Volunteer Fire Department and
20its 2015 Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off and does hereby recognize the Oilfield Crawfish Boil-
21Off as an extraordinary event that serves as an integral community celebration.

1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
2to the Buras Volunteer Fire Department.
