HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 54

A RESOLUTION
To commend the Buras Volunteer Fire Department and its 2015 Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off.
WHEREAS, the Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off is a charitable event sponsored by the
Buras Volunteer Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off is to raise funds for the
Buras Volunteer Fire Department, which are used for improvement projects within the fire
department and other community activities, such as purchasing small equipment items, in
house training, fire prevention at local schools, summer camps, vacation bible school, the
Fourth of July fireworks display, National Night Out against Crime, the local high school
homecoming parade, the Halloween Trick or Treat Extravaganza, the lighting of the
community Christmas tree, the community Christmas parade, the Christmas angel display,
and to maintain the American Flag on Cazezu Drive; and
WHEREAS, the Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off provides entertainment and competition
for those in the community of Buras; and
WHEREAS, the Buras Volunteer Fire Department merits a sincere and heartfelt
measure of commendation for the tremendous pride and honor that the Oilfield Crawfish
Boil-Off brings to the city of Buras and the state of Louisiana.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Buras Volunteer Fire Department and
its 2015 Oilfield Crawfish Boil-Off and does hereby recognize the Oilfield Crawfish Boil-
Off as an extraordinary event that serves as an integral community celebration.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the Buras Volunteer Fire Department.
