HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 57

CONDOLENCES:  Expresses condolences upon the death of Johnquaries Malque Smith
1	A RESOLUTION
2To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Johnquaries
3 Malque Smith.
4 WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
5Louisiana House of Representatives have learned of the death of Johnquaries Malque Smith
6on August 27, 2014, at the age of eighteen; and
7 WHEREAS, Johnquaries Malque Smith was born on August 1, 1996, in
8Natchitoches, Louisiana, to John Tyree and the late Alisa Ann Smith; and
9 WHEREAS, Johnquaries accepted Christ at an early age as a member of St. Mark
10Baptist Church in Allen, Louisiana; and
11 WHEREAS, he was a senior at Natchitoches Central High School and an active
12member of the Natchitoches Central Chiefs football team and soccer team; and
13 WHEREAS, Johnquaries was a positive role model and left an impression on
14everyone he met; and
15 WHEREAS, Johnquaries Malque Smith will forever be remembered for his optimism
16and generosity; and
17 WHEREAS, although the death of Johnquaries Malque Smith has left a tremendous
18void in his community, his memory shall forever remain in the minds and hearts of all who
19knew and loved this extraordinary man.
20 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
21Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the

1death of Johnquaries Malque Smith and does hereby recognize and record for posterity the
2tremendous joy and pride he will forever bring to his family, friends, school, community,
3and the state of Louisiana.
4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
5to the family of Johnquaries Malque Smith.
