COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Ponchatoula High School girls' basketball team upon
winning the 2015 Class 5A state championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Ponchatoula High School girls' basketball team upon winning the Class 5A
3 state championship.
4 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend the Ponchatoula High School girls'
5basketball team upon the completion of a sensational 2014-2015 season and to congratulate
6the players and coaches on winning the Class 5A state basketball championship; and
7 WHEREAS, the Lady Green Waves finished the season with an outstanding overall
8record of 32-3; and
9 WHEREAS, on Saturday, March 7, 2015, the Ponchatoula Lady Green Waves
10defeated the Walker Lady Wildcats by a score of 47-29 at the Louisiana High School
11Athletic Association championship at the Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles; and
12 WHEREAS, the Lady Green Waves' 2015 win over Walker marks the team's first
13state championship in school history; and
14 WHEREAS, the members of the Ponchatoula High School girls' basketball team
15performed at the highest levels of excellence throughout the season, and each team member
16deserves recognition for her vital contributions to the winning effort; and
17 WHEREAS, the Lady Green Waves were led by senior Arianna Hamilton, who
18scored eighteen points and was named most valuable player of the game; and
19 WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved
20without the guidance and skills of head coach Patricia Landaiche, who has instilled in her

1players the kind of leadership and motivational skills needed to succeed both on and off the
2court; and
3 WHEREAS, through its display of good sportsmanship and dedication to excellence,
4the Ponchatoula High School girls' basketball team has brought a tremendous sense of honor
5and pride to its school and surrounding community.
6 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
7Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the members of the Ponchatoula High
8School girls' basketball team for winning the Class 5A state basketball championship, does
9hereby express sincere and heartfelt congratulations to the Lady Green Waves in recognition
10of their outstanding athletic abilities and their exceptional season, and does hereby extend
11to the team and its coaches best wishes for success in the future.
12 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
13to Patricia Landaiche, head coach of the Ponchatoula High School girls' basketball team.
