COMMENDATIONS: Commends Ronnie "Ron" Lee Adams upon his many
accomplishments
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Ronnie "Ron" Lee Adams upon his many accomplishments throughout a well-
3 lived life.
4 WHEREAS, Ronnie "Ron" L. Adams is a notable Louisiana citizen who deserves
5recognition for his extraordinary contributions to his community, the state of Louisiana, and
6the United States of America; and
7 WHEREAS, Ron Adams was born on August 3, 1940; heeding the call of his
8country, Mr. Adams joined the United States Army in February of 1959, and he honorably
9served his country in Vietnam; and
10 WHEREAS, he is a founding member of the European United States Army Warrant
11Officer Association and served as secretary of the association in 1974; in 1975, Mr. Adams
12served as a board member for the National Warrant Officer Association Board of Directors;
13and
14 WHEREAS, he served in the United States Army with great courage and valor as
15evidenced by his receipt of numerous awards and medals, including the Legion Merit
16Award, two Bronze Stars, the Meritorious Service Medal, four Army Commodation Medals,
17the Good Conduct Award, the Armed Service Expedition Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal
18with eight service stars, the Vietnam Honor Medal, the General Officer Aid, two Overseas
19Service bars, and the National Defense Service Medal; and

1 WHEREAS, he graduated from the United States Army Warrant Officer Senior
2College in Fort Rucker, Alabama, and in 1980, he retired from the United States Army as
3Chief Warrant Officer Four; and
4 WHEREAS, in addition to his commitment to his country, Ron Adams is an active
5member in his community; and
6 WHEREAS, he served as president of the Shreveport Bossier Apartment Association,
7president of the Optimist Club, and president of the Southwest Shreveport Rotary Club; and
8 WHEREAS, he also served on the District Four Drainage Board, the State
9Republican Central Committee, and from 1994 until 1998, on the Caddo Parish School
10Board; he is also the founder of the Caddo Career & Technology Center Scholarship
11Foundation; and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. Adams is a devoted member of Summer Grove Baptist Church,
13where he has served as deacon and as chairman of the deacons; and
14 WHEREAS, Mr. Adams also finds joy in playing golf and spending time with his
15family; and
16 WHEREAS, it is appropriate that a special measure of commendation be extended
17to Ronnie "Ron" L. Adams as his extraordinary accomplishments throughout his seventy-
18four years of life are recognized.
19 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
20Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Ronnie "Ron" L. Adams and does hereby
21record for posterity the pride and honor that he brings to his family, friends, community, the
22state of Louisiana, and the United States.
23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
24to Ronnie "Ron" L. Adams.
