ENROLLED 2015 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 83 BY REPRESENTATIVE KLECKLEY A RESOLUTION To commend Grace Guth upon her retirement after thirty-two years in education. WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend and express appreciation to Grace Guth, one of the state's best and most beloved school librarians, upon her retirement; and WHEREAS, Grace Guth earned a biology education undergraduate degree from McNeese State University, a master's degree in educational technology from McNeese, and a master's degree in information and library science from Louisiana State University; and WHEREAS, Ms. Guth has dedicated thirty-two years of her life to education service, including the post of librarian at Western Heights Elementary School in Westlake, from which she is retiring; and WHEREAS, while helping children explore the wonders of learning and research through the library, Ms. Guth and her husband raised two children of their own, Dr. Walter Guth, deceased, and Patrol Deputy Bryan Guth with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Office; and WHEREAS, Ms. Guth shares her years of librarian experience through the Calcasieu Parish Public Library where she "moonlights" as a reference librarian, thereby extending her reach in literacy from the youngest to the oldest, and it is appropriate to commend this fine lady of education upon her retirement. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Grace Guth for thirty-two years of dedicated service as a librarian and educator; does hereby express hearty congratulations upon her retirement; and does hereby extend best wishes for many happy years ahead.
