COMMENDATIONS: Commends Cadet Malik Donte Jarrett for being selected for West
Point summer leadership class
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Cadet Malik Donte Jarrett upon his selection to attend West Point's Summer
3 Leaders Experience program.
4 WHEREAS, Cadet Malik Donte Jarrett is a junior at Hammond High Magnet School;
5and
6 WHEREAS, more than five thousand high school juniors nationwide applied for the
7Summer Leaders Experience program; and
8 WHEREAS, the program offers outstanding high school juniors an opportunity to
9experience life at the United States Military Academy at West Point by living in the cadet
10barracks, eating in the cadet mess hall, and participating in academic, leadership, athletic,
11and military workshops; and
12 WHEREAS, the program helps high school juniors with selecting colleges and
13developing leadership and decision-making skills; and
14 WHEREAS, Cadet Malik Donte Jarrett will participate in virtual-reality war
15simulation, military and physical fitness training, and leadership workshops; and
16 WHEREAS, Cadet Malik Donte Jarrett merits the highest commendation and most
17sincere congratulations upon his selection to attend the prestigious West Point's Summer
18Leaders Experience program.
19 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
20Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Cadet Malik Donte Jarrett for the

1outstanding commitment and leadership he has shown as a Hammond High Magnet School
2cadet.
3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
