HLS 15RS-2892 ORIGINAL 2015 Regular Session HOUSE STUDY REQUEST NO. 3 BY REPRESENTATIVE MIKE JOHNSON TAX/SALES-USE, STATE: Requests the House Ways and Means Committee to study the feasibility of establishing an incentive program for development of new tourism infrastructure and assets in exchange for certain sales and use tax collections 1 A STUDY REQUEST 2To the House Committee on Ways and Means to study the feasibility of establishing an 3 incentive program for development of new tourism infrastructure and assets in 4 exchange for certain sales and use tax collections, and to report its findings to the 5 House of Representatives prior to the convening of the 2016 Regular Session. 6 WHEREAS, the House Ways and Means Committee, in hearings during the 2015 7Regular Session concerning tax expenditures, particularly House Bill No. 771 by 8Representative Mike Johnson, discussed and determined that it was appropriate and 9necessary given the predicted budget shortfalls for the next few fiscal years for the 10committee to conduct interim hearings to study whether approving measures to establish 11incentive programs for the development of new tourism infrastructure assets in exchange for 12certain sales and use tax collections. 13 THEREFORE, the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana requests 14the House Committee on Ways and Means to study the feasibility of establishing an 15incentive program for development of new tourism infrastructure and assets in exchange for 16certain sales and use tax collections and to report its findings to the House of Representatives 17prior to the convening of the 2016 Regular Session.
