1 AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 17:194(D), relative to the administration of nutrition programs; to provide for
3 simplified acquisition procedures; and to provide for related matters.
4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1. R.S. 17:194(D) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
6 ยง194. Administration of nutrition program; general powers of governing authorities
7 of nutrition program providers; funds for privately supplied programs
8 for profit prohibited; exceptions

10 D. The state Department of Education and any governing authority of
11 a nutrition program provider may use the simplified acquisition procedures for
12 small purchases up to the Federal Small Purchase Threshold set by 41 U.S.C.
13 403(11), in order to support procurement of local agricultural products and the
14 USDA Farm to School initiatives. No such authority in this statute shall be in
15 conflict with the United States Department of Agriculture child nutrition
16 program requirements, including 2 CFR 200.319(b).
