Proposed law authorizes the state Dept. of Education and any governing authority of a nutrition
program provider to use the simplified acquisition procedures for small purchases up to the Federal
Small Purchase Threshold set by federal law, in order to support procurement of local agricultural
products and the USDA Farm to School initiatives. No such authority in proposed law shall be in
conflict with the USDA child nutrition program requirements.
Effective August 1, 2015.
