Proposed law requires each public school governing authority to actively promote and provide
information to students and parents on how to access the after-school online homework assistance
services offered through the State Library of Louisiana and their local public library. Further
provides that the appropriate link provided by the State Library of Louisiana shall be included in
each school's student handbook and be posted on the home page of the website of each public school
governing authority and each public school that has a website.
Proposed law requires each public school to post the information required by proposed law in a
prominent location visible to all students on a daily basis.
Proposed law requires the state Dept. of Education to collaborate with the State Library of Louisiana
for the support, promotion, and maintenance of its after-school homework assistance services and
other instructional-related databases.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
