Present law authorizes the clerk of district court in each parish to collect a fee of five dollars for a
short-form birth certificate and nine dollars for a long-form birth certificate or a death certificate, in
addition to other fees determined by the state registrar.
Proposed law authorizes the clerk of district court for the parishes of East Feliciana and West
Feliciana to charge an additional fee of $10 for issuing certified copies of birth and death certificates.
Effective August 1, 2015.
