(8/1/15) 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact the introductory paragraph of R.S. 42:1124.2.1(A), and to enact R.S. 3 42:1124.2.1(A)(4), relative to financial disclosure requirements of members of 4 boards and commissions; to provide an exception for members not receiving 5 compensation or per diem; and to provide for related matters. 6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 7 Section 1. The introductory paragraph of R.S. 42:1124.2.1(A) is hereby amended 8 and reenacted and R.S. 42:1124.2.1(A)(4) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 9 ยง1124.2.1. Financial disclosure; members of boards and commissions 10 A. Each of the following, except a person who is required to file a financial 11 statement pursuant to R.S. 42:1124 or 1124.2 or persons not receiving, or eligible 12 to receive, compensation or per diem, shall annually file a financial statement as 13 provided in this Section: 14 * * * 15 (4) Each member of a board or commission that has the authority to 16 expend, disburse, or invest less than fifty thousand dollars of funds in a fiscal 17 year and is not receiving, or eligible to receive, compensation or per diem. DIGEST SB 87 Reengrossed 2015 Regular Session Perry Present law requires members of boards and commissions to annually file a financial disclosure statement to the Board of Ethics. Proposed law exempts persons who do not receive or are eligible to receive compensation or per diem from the financial disclosure filing requirement. Proposed law requires members of boards and commissions with expenditure authority of less than $50,000 in a fiscal year that do not receive or are eligible to receive compensation to file financial disclosure statements. Effective August 1, 2015. (Amends R.S. 42:1124.2.1(A)(intro para); adds R.S. 42:1124.2.1(A)(4)) Summary of Amendments Adopted by Senate Committee Amendments Proposed by Senate Committee on Senate and Governmental Affairs to the original bill 1. Adds that members of boards and commissions must not be eligible to receive compensation or per diem to be exempt from the personal financial disclosure filing requirement. 2.
