SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 134
BY SENATOR DORSEY-COLOMB 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends Christopher Michael Bester for his outstanding
accomplishments.
1	A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To commend Christopher Michael Bester upon his outstanding accomplishments.
3 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Christopher Michael Bester for his
4 achievements and contributions to his fellow citizens; and
5 WHEREAS, Christopher was born to Michael and Alfreda Tillman Bester in Baton
6 Rouge, Louisiana, where he was exposed to many influential people, including governors
7 public servants, civic, social, religious, and civil rights leaders and great educators; and
8 WHEREAS, Christopher was spiritually guided at Mount Zion First Baptist Church
9 in Baton Rouge, under the late Reverend Dr. T.J. Jemison; and
10 WHEREAS, Christopher is a product of the East Baton Rouge Parish School System,
11 graduating from Baton Rouge Magnet High School where he helped his track team to win
12 the 2002 4x400 meter state championship and the 2003 overall state track championship; and
13 WHEREAS, in the spring of 2008, Christopher graduated from Southern University,
14 Baton Rouge, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and he also received a Master of
15 Business Administration degree from Southern, graduating in the top ten percent of his class
16 and being inducted into the International Honor Society for business graduates known as
17 Beta Gamma Sigma; and

1 WHEREAS, on May 10, 2015, Christopher and his high school sweetheart, Cacey
2 Sherron Stevens, who is a candidate to receive her Doctor of Philosophy in Physics from the
3 University of Chicago, were engaged and plan to marry in the spring of 2016; and 
4 WHEREAS, Christopher has worked as one of Senator Dorsey-Colomb's session
5 aides since 2014; and
6 WHEREAS, Chirstopher's parents, Dr. Jemison, Senator Dorsey-Colomb, and many
7 others impressed upon him that he could be anything that he wanted to be through God's
8 grace; and
9 WHEREAS, through his academic achievements and his involvement with the
10 community, this young man has formed a solid foundation which will serve him well in his
11 future endeavors; and 
12 WHEREAS, Christopher is the future of Louisiana's government and business and
13 is a civic leader of tomorrow. 
14 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
15 commend and congratulate Christopher Michael Bester upon his many outstanding
16 accomplishments, does hereby recognize and record for posterity the tremendous pride and
17 honor that he brings to his family, friends, community, and state, and extends best wishes
18 for success in his future endeavors. 
19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
20 Christopher Michael Bester.
