AND REPRESENTATIVES ANDERS, BROWN, CHANEY, FANNIN,
HOFFMANN, HUNTER, JACKSON, JEFFERSON, JAY MORRIS,
PYLANT AND SHADOIN 
A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend and congratulate David "Wayne" Petrus for being named one of the top ten
2014 pilots for Pilots for Patients.
WHEREAS, Pilots for Patients, based in Monroe, Louisiana, organizes pilots who
are willing to volunteer their time and money to fly patients to receive medical care; and
WHEREAS, since its inception in 2007, Pilots for Patients has flown almost
twenty-three hundred flights, free of charge to patients, and currently has a listing of one
hundred five volunteer pilots; and
WHEREAS, Wayne Petrus is president of Tyner Petrus Co. Inc. (TP Outdoors)
which was established in 1928, the past chairman of the board for the West Monroe-West
Ouachita Chamber of Commerce, currently sits on the board of directors and a member of
Worldwide Distributors Inc., which is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, and is a
contract pilot for Centurylink flying a Citation XLS SIC airplane; and
WHEREAS, he was a magna cum laude graduate of Louisiana Tech University; and
WHEREAS, he is the loving and devoted husband of Kay Brown Petrus and the
committed father of three sons, Patrick, Matt, and Jordan who is a United States Navy active
duty soldier; one daughter, Piper; one stepdaughter, Lindsay; and a cherished grandfather
to Riley and Avery; and
WHEREAS, in addition to volunteering for Pilots of Patients, he has volunteered his
time and money by flying forty-eight missions for Angel Flight South Central and being
named its 2005 Pilot of the Year, and by flying twenty-five missions for the Houston Ground
and Air Angels and being named its 2008 Pilot of the Year; and

WHEREAS, he has been a Pilots for Patients volunteer pilot since its inaugural flight
on January 14, 2008, and has flown and completed one hundred twenty-four missions for
Pilots for Patients; and
WHEREAS, the success of the state of Louisiana, the strength of our communities,
and the overall vitality of American society depend, in great measure, upon men like David
"Wayne" Petrus who use their time and own resources to help others in need.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend and congratulate David "Wayne" Petrus on his numerous outstanding
accomplishments and for being named one of the top ten 2014 pilots for Pilots for Patients.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
David "Wayne" Petrus.
