SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 78
BY SENATOR BUFFINGTON AND REPRESENTATI VE BURFORD
COMMENDATIONS. Commends the North DeSoto High School Lady Griffins Softball
Team upon winning the 2015 Class 4-A State Championship.
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To commend the North DeSoto High School Lady Griffins Softball Team, the coaches, the
3 principal, the faculty, the student body and the school community for winning the
4 Class 4-A State Championship in the State Softball Tournament, for their
5 accomplishments, and for representing the DeSoto Parish School System with pride,
6 dignity and sportsmanship above reproach.
7 WHEREAS, the North DeSoto High School Lady Griffins Softball Team, during the
8 2014-2015 season were Class 4-A State Champions with a season record of 29 wins and 1
9 loss; and
10 WHEREAS, the members of this team, Calli Boggs, Kirstyn Bordelon, Maddie
11 Burchell, Hailey Compton, Cara Davlin, Emma Callie Delafield, Stephanie Easter, Haily
12 Ebey, Emily Henderson, Katie May, Lea Posey, Kayleigh Rambin, Katelyn Ramsey, Bayli
13 Simon, Stephanie Smith, Anna Sorenson, Sami Walters, Sydney Webster, and
14 Trainer/Manager Rhyann Cisco have demonstrated their uncommon devotion to team spirit
15 and unity, their unusual dedication to the game of softball and their willingness to devote
16 themselves to learning, to improvement and to the pursuit of excellence; and
17 WHEREAS, Coach Lori McFerren, Assistant Coaches Robert John Middleton, Julie
18 Henderson and Jerrie Choate, Principal Bart Weaver, Assistant Principal Karen Nix,

1 Administrative Assistant Russell Tabor, Athletic Director Scott Abernathy, the faculty, the
2 student body, and school patrons of the North DeSoto community have joined hands to bring
3 credit and distinction to North DeSoto High School and the DeSoto Parish School System.
4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana hereby
5 commends the North DeSoto High School Lady Griffins Softball Team, the coaches, the
6 principal, the faculty, the student body and the school community for winning the Class 4-A
7 State Championship in the State Softball Tournament, for their accomplishments, and for
8 representing the DeSoto Parish School System with pride, dignity, and sportsmanship above
9 reproach.
10 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
11 Coach Lori McFerren.
