Expresses condolences on the passing of Dardanella Gabrielle Darensbourg Hamilton. 1 A RESOLUTION 2 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the 3 death of Dardanella Gabrielle Darensbourg Hamilton, wife, daughter, mother, civic 4 and community leader and friend. 5 WHEREAS, Dardanella Gabrielle Darensbourg Hamilton was born on 6 March 7, 1925, and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 28, 2015; and 7 WHEREAS, Dardanella Gabrielle Darensbourg Hamilton was the wife of the late 8 Nile Joseph Hamilton Sr., daughter of the late Irving Darensbourg and Thelma "Lilly" 9 Mouton, mother of Nile J. Hamilton Jr., Judy H. Honore', Dardanella H. Powell, Hedy H. 10 Duplessis, Ricardo X. Hamilton, Townsley E. Hamilton, Rhett A. Hamilton Sr. and Teri A. 11 Hamilton; and 12 WHEREAS, she was a homemaker, entrepreneur, "modiste-extraordinaire"; and 13 WHEREAS, Dardanella Gabrielle Darensbourg Hamilton was the owner and 14 operator of Hamilton's Sweet Shop; and 15 WHEREAS, she attended St. Mary's Academy where she developed an everlasting 16 love for the Sisters of the Holy Family and was a devoted and faithful member of Corpus 17 Christi-Epiphany Catholic Church, Answering Mary's Call Rosary Group over twenty-five 18 years, March Birthday Lunch Bunch, and the Whisterchats; and Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 100 SLS 15RS-1582 ORIGINAL 1 WHEREAS, she was a committed and dedicated citizen of Louisiana who worked 2 tirelessly on a multitude of business, civic, and religious causes throughout her life; and 3 WHEREAS, Dardanella Gabrielle Darensbourg Hamilton because of numerous 4 accomplishments in public and private life will be forever remembered by the people and 5 friends whose lives she touched for her integrity, dignity, and joy she left in the hearts of all 6 who knew her; and 7 WHEREAS, Dardanella Gabrielle Darensbourg Hamilton will be sadly missed by 8 her relatives, friends, priest and parishioners of Corpus Christi-Epiphany Catholic Church, 9 employees of Norfolk Southern Railroad, Lucent Technologies, Freemont Unified School 10 District, NetPLEA Governmental Collections & Consulting, United States Postal Service, 11 Caddo Parish Schools, Monteleone Hotel, Voulnteers of America, United Parcel Service, and 12 McDonogh 35 Senior High School; and 13 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana 14 does hereby respectfully acknowledge the many accomplishments of Dardanella Gabrielle 15 Darensbourg Hamilton and extends sincere regrets and condolences to her family on the 16 occasion of her death. 17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the 18 family of Dardanella Gabrielle Darensbourg Hamilton.
