2015 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 103 BY SENATOR NEVERS A RESOLUTION To commend Mary Grace Brister Jackson upon the celebration of her 87th birthday. WHEREAS, Mary Grace Brister Jackson was born on May 9th, 1928, in the town of Bogalusa, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, Mary Grace Brister Jackson has remained a lifelong resident of Bogalusa, Louisiana, and grew up to be a gentle woman, caring, humble, loving, nurturing, sharing, and a friend to all in the community; and WHEREAS, Mary Grace Brister Jackson was married to Sailor Jackson Sr. for forty years before he died in 1990; and WHEREAS, Mary Grace Brister Jackson is mother to three wonderful children: Sailor Jackson Jr., Howard Charles Jackson, and Linda Marie Madison; and WHEREAS, Mary Grace Brister Jackson is grandmother to six beautiful grandchildren: Enoch T. Jackson, Howard Charles Jackson Jr., Brandon Madison Jr., Nikki Williams, Shayla Jackson and Sheldron Jackson; and WHEREAS, Mary Grace Brister Jackson is great-grandmother to five beloved great- grandchildren: Eathan Jackson, Enishia Jackson, Eliska Jackson, Reese Williams and Riley Williams, as well as aunt to a host of nieces and nephews; and WHEREAS, throughout the community of Bogalusa, Mary Grace Brister Jackson is known as "Aunt Mary" and "Lala", and is always willing to share her thoughts on any number of different topics; and WHEREAS, Mary Grace Brister Jackson's strong faith in God and her personal love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is lived out daily in her devoted membership at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Bogalusa, Louisiana, and demonstrated by the fact that she has continued to teach Sunday School at her church for more than thirty years, and still teaches Sunday School to this day.
