SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 108
BY SENATOR BROWN 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends Danielle Deggs on starting the first African-American
owned and operated residential and commercial real estate agency in Iberville Parish.
1	A RESOLUTION
2 To commend and congratulate Danielle Deggs on starting the first African-American owned
3 and operated residential and commercial real estate agency in Iberville Parish.
4 WHEREAS, Danielle Deggs is a native of Plaquemine, Louisiana, being born on
5 May 4, 1984, to Renee Deggs and Ronald Henderson; and
6 WHEREAS, she was raised in the city of Plaquemine in Iberville Parish where she
7 also attended school, graduating from Plaquemine High School in May 2002; and
8 WHEREAS, Danielle Deggs obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business
9 Administration with a minor in Finance from Colorado Technical University, and then
10 attended Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College where she graduated
11 with a Master of Business Administration; and
12 WHEREAS, for seven years she worked in the sales industry where she constantly
13 excelled, and in 2010, she embarked upon a career as a real estate agent with continued
14 success; and
15 WHEREAS, today, Danielle Deggs is a trusted real estate professional broker who
16 is driven by compassion focusing her approach around "the people", helping families
17 become homeowners, moving sellers to their desired homes, and redeveloping and restoring
18 pride in neighborhoods within her state's market; and

1 WHEREAS, she sets forth every day expecting the very best and has earned multiple
2 certifications and received several awards in recognition of her success; and
3 WHEREAS, this single parent of one daughter is no stranger to hard work because
4 she has been working since the age of fifteen, going to school full time, and running a
5 business; and
6 WHEREAS, after four short years of working as a real estate agent, she decided to
7 open Vanguard Properties, starting the first African-American owned and operated
8 residential and commercial real estate agency in Iberville Parish.
9 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana that
10 Danielle Deggs is hereby commended and congratulated on starting the first
11 African-American owned and operated residential and commercial real estate agency in
12 Iberville Parish. 
13 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
14 Danielle Deggs.
