SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 125
BY SENATOR NEVERS 
COMMENDATIONS.  Designates May 20, 2015, as LouisianaChildren.org Day at the
Louisiana State Capitol and recognizes the efforts of LouisianaChildren.org in striving to
give every child in Louisiana the opportunity to thrive.
1	A RESOLUTION
2 To designate May 20, 2015, as "LouisianaChildren.org Day" at the Louisiana State Capitol
3 and to recognize the efforts of LouisianaChildren.org in striving to give every child
4 in Louisiana the opportunity to thrive.
5 WHEREAS, the mission of LouisianaChildren.org is to provide community-
6 supported solutions that build hope and promise for Louisiana's children and families by
7 supporting evidence-based programs and services for vulnerable families; and 
8 WHEREAS, the goal of LouisianaChildren.org is that every child in Louisiana has
9 the opportunity to thrive; and 
10 WHEREAS, LouisianaChildren.org believes that the best way to achieve that goal
11 is through community programs and involvement of individual citizens; and 
12 WHEREAS, LouisianaChildren.org serves as the umbrella association for Children's
13 Advocacy Centers of Louisiana and for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of
14 Louisiana; and 
15 WHEREAS, LouisianaChildren.org supports Children's Advocacy Centers of
16 Louisiana in ensuring that every child victim referred to a Children's Advocacy Center has
17 a comfortable, child-friendly environment for interviews and other services, in order to
18 reduce further trauma to the child and focus on beginning the child's journey towards hope

1 and healing; and 
2 WHEREAS, LouisianaChildren.org supports Court Appointed Special Advocates
3 (CASA) by assisting CASA volunteers in helping to secure safe and permanent homes for
4 abused and neglected children by investigating and monitoring cases involving children in
5 foster care; and 
6 WHEREAS, LouisianaChildren.org supports thirty-three member programs in all
7 sixty-four parishes in Louisiana, serving more than 11,000 children every year, and reaching
8 more than 25,000 families and professionals in this state. 
9 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
10 does hereby designate May 20, 2015, as "LouisianaChildren.org Day" at the Louisiana State
11 Capitol, and does hereby recognize the efforts of LouisianaChildren.org in striving to give
12 every child in Louisiana the opportunity to thrive through providing community-supported
13 solutions that build hope and promise for Louisiana's children and families and supporting
14 evidence-based programs and services for vulnerable families.
15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
16 President and Chief Executive Officer of LouisianaChildren.org.
