SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 133

COMMENDATIONS. Commends and congratulates Samuel Evan Phillips for being named
the 2015 PricewaterhouseCoopers Outstanding Junior in Accounting at Louisiana State
University.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend and congratulate Samuel Evan Phillips for being named the 2015
3 PricewaterhouseCoopers Outstanding Junior in Accounting at Louisiana State
4 University and to recognize his extraordinary accomplishments.
5 WHEREAS, Samuel is a 2013 graduate of Ruston High School with a 4.0 grade point
6 average; and
7 WHEREAS, during his time at Ruston High School, Samuel was selected as a
8 National Merit Scholarship Finalist; and
9 WHEREAS, Samuel enrolled at Louisiana State University in the fall of 2013 and
10 expects to graduate one full year early in May of 2016; and
11 WHEREAS, Samuel is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and
12 plans to pursue a Master of Science in Accounting upon graduation; and
13 WHEREAS, Samuel maintains a 4.0 grade point average at Louisiana State
14 University; and
15 WHEREAS, Samuel Evan Phillips, the son of Gregg and Andrea Phillips and the
16 grandson of Senator Gerald and Rose Long and Alice Phillips, is a talented Louisiana
17 student who demonstrates a true commitment to excellence; and

1 WHEREAS, he is hereby recognized and honored for this exemplary academic
2 distinction as well as his deeds to improve and make a positive impact on his community,
3 campus, and state.
4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
5 does hereby commend and congratulate Samuel Evan Phillips for being named the 2015
6 PricewaterhouseCoopers Outstanding Junior in Accounting at Louisiana State University,
7 does hereby recognize his extraordinary accomplishments, and wish him continued success
8 in all of his future endeavors.
9 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
10 Samuel Evan Phillips.
