SENATE. Recognizes Tuesday, May 26, 2015, as National Federation of Independent
Business/Louisiana Small Business Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To recognize Tuesday, May 26, 2015, as "National Federation of Independent Business/
3 Louisiana Small Business Day" at the Louisiana State Capitol.
4 WHEREAS, both governmental and private entities alike herald small businesses as
5 the backbone of the American economy; and
6 WHEREAS, founded in 1943 and headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, the
7 National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is a small business advocacy
8 association that represents small and independent businesses before government policy
9 makers in all fifty states and provides services to its member organizations; and
10 WHEREAS, 350,000 small and independent business owners enjoy the camaraderie
11 and beneficial nature of the NFIB through use of the federation's many products and
12 services, such as commercial and health insurance; equipment maintenance and repair
13 discounts; and marketing expertise designed to improve the reach of small businesses; and
14 WHEREAS, the Young Entrepreneur Foundation, the Research Foundation, and the
15 Small Business Legal Center are auxiliaries of the NFIB that serve young men and women
16 in their business startups, conduct polls that provide strategic information to NFIB members,
17 and offer legal services; and
18 WHEREAS, NFIB/Louisiana Small Business Day at the capitol is Tuesday, May 26,

1 2015, and it is appropriate to recognize the contributions of small businesses in Louisiana
2 to the thriving economy of the state.
3 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
4 does hereby recognize Tuesday, May 26, 2015, as "National Federation of Independent
5 Business/Louisiana Small Business Day" at the Louisiana State Capitol and does hereby
6 commend small business owners and operators throughout the state.
