SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 140

CONDOLENCES. Expresses condolences upon the death of Martha Joyce "Joy" Neal
LaGrone.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
3 death of Martha Joyce "Joy" Neal LaGrone.
4 WHEREAS, Joy LaGrone was true and obedient to God's word, which says in
5 Genesis 1:22 to "go forth and multiply"; and
6 WHEREAS, she was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and friend to all; and
7 WHEREAS, she relished her life as a farmer's wife, an avid hunter, fisherman and
8 gardener; and
9 WHEREAS, Joy LaGrone was a devoted Catholic and member of the Catholic
10 Daughters of St. Ann's Catholic Church of Morganza, Louisiana; and
11 WHEREAS, she was a resident of Brownview, Louisiana; and
12 WHEREAS, on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, she passed away at the age of eighty-eight;
13 and
14 WHEREAS, Joy LaGrone leaves the significant legacy of thirteen children,
15 eighty-one grandchildren, one hundred seven great-grandchildren and eight
16 great-great-grandchildren; and
17 WHEREAS, the love and lessons that she has instilled in each of her loved ones
18 allows her to be absent from the body but present in the spirit of those she leaves behind.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
2 does hereby express sincere condolences upon the death of Martha Joyce "Joy" Neal
3 LaGrone.
4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
5 Mason LaGrone, the husband of Martha Joyce "Joy" Neal LaGrone.
