SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 140

A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
death of Martha Joyce "Joy" Neal LaGrone.
WHEREAS, Joy LaGrone was true and obedient to God's word, which says in
Genesis 1:22 to "go forth and multiply"; and
WHEREAS, she was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and friend to all; and
WHEREAS, she relished her life as a farmer's wife, an avid hunter, fisherman and
gardener; and
WHEREAS, Joy LaGrone was a devoted Catholic and member of the Catholic
Daughters of St. Ann's Catholic Church of Morganza, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, she was a resident of Brownview, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, she passed away at the age of eighty-eight;
and
WHEREAS, Joy LaGrone leaves the significant legacy of thirteen children,
eighty-one grandchildren, one hundred seven great-grandchildren and eight
great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, the love and lessons that she has instilled in each of her loved ones
allows her to be absent from the body but present in the spirit of those she leaves behind.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby express sincere condolences upon the death of Martha Joyce "Joy" Neal
LaGrone.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Mason LaGrone, the husband of Martha Joyce "Joy" Neal LaGrone.
