2015 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 189 BY SENATORS GALLOT, KOSTELKA AND LONG A RESOLUTION To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the death of Herman H. "Buddy" Collins Jr. WHEREAS, Herman H. "Buddy" Collins Jr. was born on September 5, 1958, in Bentley, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, Mr. Collins served his community as a member of the Grant Parish Police Jury since 2011 and as president of Grant Eastern Construction for nineteen years; and WHEREAS, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, full of life and laughter, and often characterized by his generosity and kindness; and WHEREAS, Mr. Collins was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Dry Prong, Louisiana, where he spent numerous days of enjoyment with his family, fellow parishoners, and community; and WHEREAS, preceded in death by his father Herman H. Collins Sr., Herman H. Collins Jr. passed away on May 22, 2015, in Houston, Texas; and WHEREAS, those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Cynthia "Cindy" Zell Collins; daughters, Emillie Collins Mullis and husband, Zachary, Stephanie Collins Dugard and husband, Jake, and Allyson Collins Hensgens and husband, Heath; grandchildren, Eliza Mullis and Eli Hensgens; mother, Lois Brown Collins; sisters, Sheryl C. Brimer and husband, Tony, Dot C. Whitehead and husband, Gary, Debbie C. McFarland and husband, Pete, and Vicki "NaNa" Collins, as well as a host of other family and friends; and WHEREAS, funeral services celebrating the life of Herman H. "Buddy" Collins Jr. were held on May 25, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Dry Prong, Louisiana, led by his son-in-law, Zachary Mullis and Reverend Lloyd Whitman.
