Expresses condolences upon the death of Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. 1 A RESOLUTION 2 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the 3 death of Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. 4 WHEREAS, Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. was a retired longshoreman where he 5 served as a delegate with the International Longshoremen's Association Union 3000; and 6 WHEREAS, Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. departed this life on Thursday, June 4, 7 2015, at the age of seventy-seven in Slidell, Louisiana; and 8 WHEREAS, Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. is survived by Rosalie M. Briant, his 9 beloved spouse of fifty-nine years; and 10 WHEREAS, Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. is also survived by his sons and daughters- 11 in-law, David Briant, Gregory Briant (Anita), and Mitchell Briant (Senedra), siblings 12 Wheeler P. Briant Jr., Naomi Edgerson, Joyce Acres and Herbert Briant, ten grandchildren 13 and three great-grandchildren; and 14 WHEREAS, Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, 15 Wheeler P. Briant Sr. and Amelia Cousins, six siblings, and his beloved first-born son, Irvin 16 Briant Jr.; and 17 WHEREAS, Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. will be sorely missed by his family, 18 friends and a host of relatives.
