SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 206

A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
death of Gavin Bryce Chelette.
WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow and deep regret that the members of the
Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana have learned of the untimely passing of Gavin Bryce
Chelette, at age thirteen, on April 25, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Gavin was born on March 13, 2002, was a student at Grace Christian
School where he excelled in soccer, track and cross country, and he and his twin brother
were the first sixth graders to letter in soccer; and
WHEREAS, Gavin was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved competing with his
brother Ethan; loved Nascar races, especially, Dale Earnhardt Jr. #88, and delighted and
entertained all with his outgoing and loving personality, singing, dancing and generally
being the life of any party he attended; and
WHEREAS, Gavin was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, T.L.
and Elaine Futrell and Helen Perkins and Merritte Chelette; maternal great-grandfather L.G.
Futrell; maternal great-grandparents, John and Jessie Benjamin; and cousin Sara Sanson; and
WHEREAS, those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Megan Desselle
and her husband Jason Desselle; twin brother, William Ethan Chelette; sister, Kori Lynn
Chelette; "Bubby", Tate Glenn Desselle; father, Chad Chelette and companion Wendy
Brown; step-sister Taylor Alexis Outlaw; maternal grandparents, Larry and Jessie Futrell;
paternal grandparents Edward and Anita Chelette; maternal great-grandmother, Pauline
Futrell; step paternal grandparents, Trenda and Wayne Desselle; cousins, Austin D., Ashton,
Emalea, Kaylee, Austin F., Caden, Lainey, Myles, Devon, Tucker, Emma and Mia; uncles
and aunts Jeremy and Jennifer, Dustin and Kim, Darren and Angela, Jess and Nikki, Ben and
Alyssa, Jeff and children, Rylee and Adlee Chelette and Justin Desselle; and great-aunts,
great-uncles, and their families.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
hereby extends sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of Gavin Bryce Chelette.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Megan Desselle.
