COMMENDATIONS. Commends Brown Builders, Inc. of Bossier City upon receipt of the
titles of 2014 Builder of the Year and 2014 North American Volume Builder of the Year
awarded by Butler Manufacturing.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend the firm of Brown Builders, Inc. of Bossier City, Louisiana, upon receipt of
3 the dual titles of 2014 Builder of the Year and the 2014 North American Volume
4 Builder of the Year awarded by Butler Manufacturing.
5 WHEREAS, since its beginning, Brown Builders, one of the largest general
6 contractors in the state of Louisiana, has specialized in design-build construction of all
7 manner of industrial, community, and commercial facilities; throughout the Southeastern
8 United States, from Virginia to Texas, Brown Builders has erected churches, schools,
9 hospitals, and governmental buildings of every size and shape; and
10 WHEREAS, Brown Builders was established in 1971, when Wayne Brown joined
11 his father, James M. Brown; a homebuilder, and his brother, Doug Brown, to create a
12 construction dynasty based on the principles of steadfast determination, hard work, and close
13 attention to detail along with a little bit of luck; together they forged Brown Builders, Inc.
14 into a highly lucrative enterprise; and
15 WHEREAS, Brown Builders, Inc. has extensive trade experience, excellent financial
16 reserves, bonding capacity, superior safety statistics, a proven success rate, and a listing of
17 highly qualified subcontractors; all factors which contribute to its sterling reputation as a
18 premier single-source building contractor; and

1 WHEREAS, the management team of Brown Builders integrates all phases of
2 construction with such efficiency as to deliver projects on time, within budget, and of
3 superior quality; this work ethic is the epicenter of the company's prestige; and
4 WHEREAS, 2014 was a banner year for Brown Builders with sales of more than one
5 million square feet of Butler Manufacturing pre-engineered buildings, more than any other
6 company in North America; and
7 WHEREAS, an immense undertaking was the completion of the Benteler Steel Tube
8 installation, part of a multi-model transportation and industrial complex, located in the Port
9 of Caddo-Bossier on the Red River; and
10 WHEREAS, dual recognition from Butler Manufacturing is quite exceptional in that
11 the product volume award is usually presented to much larger national firms and to receive
12 both the highest product volume and builder of the year honors has never been achieved by
13 a single company within a twelve-month time period; and
14 WHEREAS, since 2012, the legacy of Brown Builders, Inc. lies in the capable hands
15 of its president, Kristen Brown, at the helm of this synergetic, family-owned business; and
16 WHEREAS, as part of Brown Builders third generation, Kristen Brown grew up in
17 the business and appreciates the complex operations and relationships afforded this service
18 industry; Brown Builders, a Louisiana company, proudly provides unique building solutions
19 through its network of construction professionals and offers the best in custom design-build
20 practices; and
21 WHEREAS, after forty-five years, Brown Builders, Inc. continues as a trailblazer in
22 the construction trades; with new applications of technology and efficiency, it sets a high
23 benchmark for others to follow.
24 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
25 does hereby commend and congratulate Brown Builders, Inc. upon receipt of dual titles as
26 2014 Builder of the Year and the 2014 North American Volume Builder of the Year awarded
27 by Butler Manufacturing.
28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Brown Builders, Inc. is hereby commended for
29 the positive economic impact it has in the state of Louisiana and its unprecedented success.
30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
