Creates the Louisiana Countermand Resolution Study Task Force to study the practicality and the
possibility of enacting a Countermand Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Provides that the task force consist of the following eight members:
(1)The president of the Senate or his designee.
(2)The speaker of the House of Representatives or his designee.
(3)Three members of the Senate appointed by the president, one of whom shall be a member
of the minority party, and one of whom shall be designated by the president as co-
chairperson.
(4)Three members of the House of Representatives appointed by the speaker, one of whom shall
be a member of the minority party, and one of whom shall be designated by the speaker as
co-chairperson.
Provides that a majority of the total membership shall constitute a quorum of the task force and any
official action by the task force shall require an affirmative vote of a majority of the quorum present
and voting.
Provides that the staff assigned to the Senate Committee on Labor and Industrial Relations shall
serve as staff for the task force.
Requires written report to the legislature no later than 60 days prior to the 2016 RS.
