SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 228

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Elaine and Robert Harper upon the occasion of their 50th
wedding anniversary.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Elaine and Robert Harper upon the occasion of their fiftieth wedding
3 anniversary.
4 WHEREAS, Robert Harper was born and raised in the Sixth Ward area; and
5 WHEREAS, Elaine Reavis Harper was born and lived most of her childhood years
6 in the New Orleans area before moving to Slidell, Louisiana; and
7 WHEREAS, Elaine and Robert Harper were married on June 26, 1965, in Pearl
8 River, Louisiana, at the house of Stella Jones; and
9 WHEREAS, standing as witnesses to the nuptials were Elaine and Charles Taylor;
10 and
11 WHEREAS, once married, the couple lived on Teat Blackwell Road in Pearl River,
12 Louisiana; and
13 WHEREAS, the couple are the proud parents of Robin, Jennifer, and Joy; and
14 WHEREAS, the couple are the proud grandparents of Heather, Julissa, Rodney,
15 Bethany, Destiny, Tyler, Brayden, and Brianna and step-grandchildren Danielle and
16 Timothy; and
17 WHEREAS, the couple are the proud great-grandparents of Bentley and step-great-
18 grandparents of Shane, Lindley, and Timothy.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
2 does hereby extend warmest congratulations to Elaine and Robert Harper upon the occasion
3 of their fiftieth wedding anniversary and does hereby express best wishes for many happy
4 years ahead.
5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
6 Elaine and Robert Harper.
