SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 25

COMMENDATIONS. Declares April 21, 2015, as KBD Day at the State Capitol.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Kappa Beta Delta and declare April 21, 2015, as KBD Day at the State
3 Capitol.
4 WHEREAS, Kappa Beta Delta (KBD) the International Business Honors Society for
5 the College of Business at Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) was established in
6 1997 and the BRCC chapter was formed in 2011 to encourage and recognize students for
7 their high academic achievement in business; and
8 WHEREAS, students who are pursuing business, management, and administration
9 associate degrees at BRCC are extended an invitation to KBD as an award for their high
10 academic achievement; and
11 WHEREAS, KBD promotes personal and professional improvement and a life
12 distinguished by honorable service to humankind; and
13 WHEREAS, students must rank within the top twenty percent of their class to be
14 considered and the average grade point is 3.8; and
15 WHEREAS, KBD has had a tremendous impact on the BRCC students' motivation
16 as well as their interaction with community stakeholders; has increased the students ability
17 to engage in various critical issues within our local community and state relating to business;
18 and has also improved their ability to secure jobs within the Louisiana workforce which is

1 a tremendous help to their families and communities; and
2 WHEREAS, members of KBD participate in service projects such as garbage pick
3 up in the Greater Baton Rouge area, feeding families at St. Vincent de Paul, and hundreds
4 devoting of hours to working with other local area community projects and organizations
5 such as The Walls Project, Lemonade Day, and other BRCC groups; and
6 WHEREAS, KBD provides special training to its students that truly help to equip
7 them with the tools they need to begin a successful career in the business industry; and
8 WHEREAS, it is important to recognize the achievements of students in our local
9 community.
10 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
11 does hereby commend Kappa Beta Delta and declare April 21, 2015, as KBD Day at the
12 State Capitol.
13 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
14 Jeremy Cinman at Baton Rouge Community College.
