SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 25

A RESOLUTION
To commend Kappa Beta Delta and declare April 21, 2015, as KBD Day at the State
Capitol.
WHEREAS, Kappa Beta Delta (KBD) the International Business Honors Society for
the College of Business at Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) was established in
1997 and the BRCC chapter was formed in 2011 to encourage and recognize students for
their high academic achievement in business; and
WHEREAS, students who are pursuing business, management, and administration
associate degrees at BRCC are extended an invitation to KBD as an award for their high
academic achievement; and
WHEREAS, KBD promotes personal and professional improvement and a life
distinguished by honorable service to humankind; and
WHEREAS, students must rank within the top twenty percent of their class to be
considered and the average grade point is 3.8; and
WHEREAS, KBD has had a tremendous impact on the BRCC students' motivation
as well as their interaction with community stakeholders; has increased the students' ability
to engage in various critical issues within our local community and state relating to business;
and has also improved their ability to secure jobs within the Louisiana workforce which is
a tremendous help to their families and communities; and
WHEREAS, members of KBD participate in service projects such as garbage pick
up in the Greater Baton Rouge area, feeding families at St. Vincent de Paul, and devoting
hundreds of hours to working with other local area community projects and organizations
such as The Walls Project, Lemonade Day, and other BRCC groups; and
WHEREAS, KBD provides special training to its students that truly help to equip
them with the tools they need to begin a successful career in the business industry; and
WHEREAS, it is important to recognize the achievements of students in our local
community.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend Kappa Beta Delta and declare April 21, 2015, as KBD Day at the
State Capitol.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Jeremy Cinman at Baton Rouge Community College.
