SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 4
BY SENATOR MORRISH 
SENATE.  Designates the week of November 9 through 16, 2015, as "School Psychologist
Week".
1	A RESOLUTION
2 To designate the week of November 9 through 16, 2015, as "School Psychologist Week".
3 WHEREAS, school psychologists have extensive training in assessment, progress
4 monitoring instruction, child development and psychology; and
5 WHEREAS, school psychologists also have in-depth instruction in counseling, crisis
6 response, program evaluation, as well as data collection and analysis; and
7 WHEREAS, the training of a school psychologist specifically applies to work within
8 school settings, including general and special education environments; and
9 WHEREAS, school psychologists have extensive knowledge in school system
10 operations in addition to legal ramifications of providing their expertise; and
11 WHEREAS, school psychologists assist in removing barriers to learning and are
12 critical players of the school team that ensures a quality and genuinely accessible education
13 for all students; and
14 WHEREAS, the services provided by school psychologists that lower barriers to
15 learning and effective teaching are central to the supportive educational process necessary
16 to prepare all students for academic success, healthy development, and responsible
17 citizenship.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana

1 does hereby designate the week of November 9 through 16, 2015, as "School Psychologist
2 Week".
3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
4 Louisiana School Psychological Association.
