Expresses condolences of the Louisiana Senate upon the death of United States Air Force Master Sergeant Sheilah Jeannine Player. 1 A RESOLUTION 2 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana to the 3 family of United States Air Force Master Sergeant Sheilah Jeannine Player upon her 4 untimely death. 5 WHEREAS, Master Sergeant Sheilah Player was born at Andrews Air Force Base 6 in Maryland on May 15, 1976, to Senior Master Sergeant Lynwood Player Sr. USAF retired 7 and Shirley Player; and 8 WHEREAS, MSGT Player was the product of a career military family and at the age 9 of four she and her family relocated to Carswell Air Force Base in Ft. Worth, Texas, where 10 she attended Benbrook Elementary School; and 11 WHEREAS, MSGT Player and her family later moved to Sacramento, California, 12 where she attended Dudley Elementary School before attending Center High School where 13 she graduated in 1994; and 14 WHEREAS, MSGT Player relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, before entering 15 the United States Air Force in May of 1996, and she trained to become a Medical Technician 16 Journeyman; and 17 WHEREAS, she began her own family after her marriage to Jimmy Lucas of 18 Mississippi, with the birth of Troi and Alex Lucas; and Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 43 SLS 15RS-641 ORIGINAL 1 WHEREAS, MSGT Player was appointed in 1999, as the Medical Aero Evacuation 2 team lead, assisting in operations around the world before her promotion to 3 Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of the Commander Action Group at Lackland Air 4 Force Base in Texas; and 5 WHEREAS, MSGT Player ended her marriage in 2010, and was subsequently 6 engaged to Senior Master Sergeant Keith Castille, planning to marry in July of 2015; and 7 WHEREAS, MSGT Player was excited to begin a new life with him and his three 8 sons and she and her son and daughter; and 9 WHEREAS, MSGT Player had traveled extensively throughout the United States, 10 the Pacific, and Europe during her career of more than seventeen years of service in the Air 11 Force; and 12 WHEREAS, MSGT Player served with great distinction during her military service 13 but her true passion was for her children, family, friends, and fellow airmen, and she will be 14 greatly missed by all who knew her. 15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana 16 does hereby extend its deepest and most profound condolences to the family of United States 17 Air Force Master Sergeant Sheilah Jeannine Player for their immeasurable loss and her 18 dedicated service to the land she loved. 19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the 20 family of United States Air Force Master Sergeant Sheilah Jeannine Player.
