SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 46

PERRY, PETERSON, RISER, GARY SMITH, JOHN SMITH,
TARVER, THOMPSON, WALSWORTH, WARD AND WHITE 
A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana to the
family of Louisiana Army National Guard Specialist Chase McRay Reynolds upon
his death.
WHEREAS, Chase McRay Reynolds was a resident of Kenner, Louisiana, and will
be remembered by all who knew him as an incredible young man with many talents and
skills; and
WHEREAS, Chase was a natural athlete and put those qualities to good use as a
football player for Lutheran High School; and
WHEREAS, Chase graduated from the Youth Challenge Program with honors such
as being named the valedictorian of his class and winning a writing competition in the
program; and
WHEREAS, Specialist Chase McRay Reynolds was highly successful after joining
the Louisiana Army National Guard in 2013, and becoming an infantryman with D
Company, 2nd Battalion, 256th Infantry Brigade located in Thibodaux, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Specialist Reynolds always made time to spend with his family and
never failed to step in and assist others when they needed his help or wisdom in times of
difficulty; and
WHEREAS, his gift for inspiring his younger brothers and others with his love,
understanding, and strong personality was cut short August 2, 2014, when he passed away
suddenly at the age of twenty; and

WHEREAS, Specialist Reynolds was a unique and irreplaceable spirit to his family,
friends, and fellow soldiers from his unit and will remain a part of the lives of all who had
the opportunity to know him. 
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby extend its deepest sympathies and most profound condolences to the family of
Louisiana Army National Guard Specialist Chase McRay Reynolds for their immeasurable
loss and his faithful and steadfast service to his state and country during his short but very
bright life.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
family of Specialist Chase McRay Reynolds.
