COMMENDATIONS: Commends the LSU-Alexandria men's basketball team upon
winning the 2015-2016 regular season Red River Athletic Conference title
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the LSU-Alexandria men's basketball team upon winning the Red River
3 Athletic Conference 2015-2016 regular season title.
4 WHEREAS, on February 20, 2016, the Louisiana State University at Alexandria
5(LSU-A) Generals withstood a furious Texas College rally to cement their eighteenth
6straight win, clinch the Red River Athletic Conference regular season title, and claim a berth
7in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics national tournament; and
8 WHEREAS, to date, the Generals sport a season record of 26-2, with a conference
9record of 17-1; and
10 WHEREAS, under the leadership of Head Coach Larry Cordero, with the help of
11assistant coaches Casey Apetrei and Jay Smith, student assistant Taylor Smith, and team
12managers Daniel Roy and Darin Alleman, student athletes Austin Adams, Dustin Adams,
13William Claiborne, Joseph Feraci, and red-shirt freshmen Cody Rudolph and Chris Vickers
14of Slidell; red-shirt freshman Carlos Coleman of Gibsland; DeAngelo Coleman of McComb,
15Mississippi; Andre Gonzaque, Donovan Thomas, and DeQuavious Wagner of Alexandria;
16Colby Harrison, Darius Johnson, Darryl Milburn, red-shirt freshman Vincent Sanders, and
17Jordin Williams of Baton Rouge; Dominic Jackson of Saginaw, Michigan; Brandon Moss
18of Bessemer, Alabama; Bradley Savoy of St. Martinville; Michael Scott of Walker; Evan
19Smith of Winnfield; Keylan Spears of Independence; Brian Sylvester of Breaux Bridge;
20Gilbert Talbot of Houma; and Kyle Thorne of Tioga have all made invaluable contributions
21to the on-court success of the 2015-2016 Generals; and it is appropriate to congratulate the

1athletes and staff of the LSU-A men's basketball team for their masterful skills in capturing
2a second regular season title in the Red River Athletic Conference.
3 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
4Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the athletes, coaches, and staff of the
5Louisiana State University at Alexandria Generals upon winning the 2015-2016 Red River
6Athletic Conference regular season title and does hereby extend best wishes for continued
7success in the national tournament and beyond.
8 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
9to Head Coach Larry Cordero.
