COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce for
receiving the Small Chamber of the Year award
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce upon receiving the Small
3 Chamber of the Year award and to recognize the chamber for its services that create
4 an environment for economic growth.
5 WHEREAS, the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce encourages
6economic growth in the Minden-South Webster Parish area in northwest Louisiana; and
7 WHEREAS, in August of 2015, the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce
8received the Small Chamber of the Year award at the annual Louisiana Association of
9Chamber of Commerce Executives conference held in Sulphur; and
10 WHEREAS, through community, organizational, and professional development, the
11Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce has made significant contributions to the
12Minden-South Webster Parish area; and
13 WHEREAS, during the spring of each year, the chamber participates in a
14Washington, D.C. fly-in to meet with elected officials; in 2014, Jerri de Pingre', president
15of the chamber, submitted the issue "Go or Blow: The Demilitarization of M6 Propellant"
16to educate officials on the impending danger of the illegally stored M6 close to downtown
17Minden; as a result of the chamber's hard work and dedication, the United States Army
18accepted responsibility for the clean up; and
19 WHEREAS, the chamber plays a significant role in providing economic information
20to the community and has helped bring highly sought physicians to a town of 12,000
21residents; and

1 WHEREAS, the chamber has taken an active role in the Louisiana Initiative for
2Nonprofit and Community Collaboration (LINCC); in 2014, the chamber, along with the city
3of Minden, completed the Louisiana Development Ready Communities Program; and
4 WHEREAS, each year, the chamber hosts many organizational development events,
5including a breakfast for new teachers in the parish, a board retreat, and a 15 Under 40 Gala
6which highlights fifteen business professionals under the age of forty in the Minden-South
7Webster Parish area; and
8 WHEREAS, the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce has created
9numerous opportunities for businesses in northwest Louisiana and has a strong commitment
10to the community; and
11 WHEREAS, upon receiving the Small Chamber of the Year award, it is appropriate
12to commend the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce and to recognize the
13chamber for its outstanding services to the community.
14 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
15Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Minden-South Webster Chamber of
16Commerce upon receiving the Small Chamber of the Year award from the Louisiana
17Chamber of Commerce Executives and does hereby recognize and record for posterity the
18chamber's commitment to economic growth in the Minden-South Webster Parish area in
19northwest Louisiana.
20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
21to Jerri de Pingre'.
