HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 4
BY REPRESENTATIVE REYNOLDS
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce upon receiving the Small
Chamber of the Year award and to recognize the chamber for its services that create
an environment for economic growth.
WHEREAS, the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce encourages
economic growth in the Minden-South Webster Parish area in northwest Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, in August of 2015, the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce
received the Small Chamber of the Year award at the annual Louisiana Association of
Chamber of Commerce Executives conference held in Sulphur; and
WHEREAS, through community, organizational, and professional development, the
Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce has made significant contributions to the
Minden-South Webster Parish area; and
WHEREAS, during the spring of each year, the chamber participates in a
Washington, D.C. fly-in to meet with elected officials; in 2014, Jerri de Pingre', president
of the chamber, submitted the issue "Go or Blow: The Demilitarization of M6 Propellant"
to educate officials on the impending danger of the illegally stored M6 close to downtown
Minden; as a result of the chamber's hard work and dedication, the United States Army
accepted responsibility for the clean up; and
WHEREAS, the chamber plays a significant role in providing economic information
to the community and has helped bring highly sought physicians to a town of 12,000
residents; and
WHEREAS, the chamber has taken an active role in the Louisiana Initiative for
Nonprofit and Community Collaboration (LINCC); in 2014, the chamber, along with the city
of Minden, completed the Louisiana Development Ready Communities Program; and

WHEREAS, each year, the chamber hosts many organizational development events,
including a breakfast for new teachers in the parish, a board retreat, and a 15 Under 40 Gala
which highlights fifteen business professionals under the age of forty in the Minden-South
Webster Parish area; and
WHEREAS, the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce has created
numerous opportunities for businesses in northwest Louisiana and has a strong commitment
to the community; and
WHEREAS, upon receiving the Small Chamber of the Year award, it is appropriate
to commend the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce and to recognize the
chamber for its outstanding services to the community.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Minden-South Webster Chamber of
Commerce upon receiving the Small Chamber of the Year award from the Louisiana
Chamber of Commerce Executives and does hereby recognize and record for posterity the
chamber's commitment to economic growth in the Minden-South Webster Parish area in
northwest Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Jerri de Pingre'.
