CONDOLENCES: Expresses condolences upon the death of Karen From
1 A RESOLUTION
2To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Karen From.
3 WHEREAS, it was with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
4Louisiana House of Representatives learned of the death of Karen From on Friday,
5December 11, 2015, at the age of sixty-nine; and
6 WHEREAS, prior to her long and effective teaching career, Ms. From worked for
7The Town Talk newspaper in Alexandria; and
8 WHEREAS, Ms. From had a passion for American literature, especially for Emerson
9and Thoreau; she taught American literature at Holy Savior Menard Central High School,
10where she strived to be an inspiration to all students; and
11 WHEREAS, she will long be remembered for her memorable roles in local theater;
12and
13 WHEREAS, she was preceded in death by her parents, Wincel Eichelberger and Faye
14Zimmerman Eichelberger; and
15 WHEREAS, left to cherish her memory are her husband, K. Trevor From, Jr., M.D.;
16her children, Allison From, Kendall From, III, and Catherine From; her grandchildren,
17Trevor and Tyler Stodghill; her sister, Kaye Pace; and her niece and nephew; and
18 WHEREAS, with the death of Ms. From, Louisiana has lost one of her finest citizens;
19she was admired by all whose lives she touched and is greatly missed; and

1 WHEREAS, although the death of Karen From has left a tremendous void in her
2community, her memory shall live on forever in the minds and hearts of all who knew and
3loved her.
4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
5Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the
6death of Karen From; does hereby recognize and record for posterity her outstanding
7accomplishments and singular contributions; and does hereby extend enduring appreciation
8for the pride and honor that this wonderful lady will forever bring to her family and friends,
9her community, and the state of Louisiana.
10 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
11to the family of Karen From.
