SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 16

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Janice Muturuh of Sulphur, Louisiana, upon her
selection to the Hugh O'Brian World Leadership Congress in Chicago, Illinois.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend and congratulate Janice Muturuh of Sulphur, Louisiana, upon her selection as
3 a representative of Louisiana to the Hugh O'Brian World Leadership Congress in
4 Chicago, Illinois.
5 WHEREAS, at the World Leadership Congress, more than 475,000 students from
6 around the world assemble to learn firsthand about other cultures and opinions, form
7 friendships, and exchange ideas in an environment where they can feel comfortable in open
8 discussion with their peers and learn to voice how they have shaped and formed their own
9 views about the role of leadership in society; and
10 WHEREAS, Hugh O'Brian believes the most important thing in education is to teach
11 young people to think for themselves, and the more than 475,000 HOBY alumni demonstrate
12 how this belief has influenced and inspired young people to become more involved in their
13 communities; and
14 WHEREAS, the Hugh O'Brian World Leadership Congress seeks to inspire high
15 school students to excel as leaders, using friendship with others as a catalyst for their
16 learning experiences.
17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of Legislature of Louisiana does
18 hereby commend and congratulate Janice Muturuh of Sulphur, Louisiana, upon her selection

1 as a representative of Louisiana at the Hugh O'Brian World Leadership Congress in Chicago,
2 Illinois, and does hereby recognize the pride and honor that this wonderful young woman
3 brings to her family, friends, school, community, and state.
4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
5 Janice Muturuh and to the principal of Sulphur High School.
