Expresses condolences upon the death of Lacee' Brooke Richard. 1 A RESOLUTION 2 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the 3 death of Lacee' Brooke Richard. 4 WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the citizens of Louisiana 5 learned of the death of Lacee' Brooke Richard on June 8, 2016; and 6 WHEREAS, Lacee' Brooke Richard was born on August 7, 1987; and 7 WHEREAS, a native of Baton Rouge, she graduated from Louisiana School for the 8 Deaf in 2005, attended the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, and 9 on May 13, 2016, received a bachelor's degree of Interdisciplinary Studies from Louisiana 10 State University; and 11 WHEREAS, upon graduation from Louisiana State University, Miss Richard moved 12 to Ramsey, Minnesota, to seek employment; and 13 WHEREAS, Miss Richard had a zest for life and enjoyed traveling and experiencing 14 life to the fullest with her friends; and 15 WHEREAS, Lacee' Brooke Richard is survived by her loving and devoted mother, 16 Lacey Richard; her father, Jarvis McAllister; her loving companion, Sarah LeCavalier; a 17 stepsister, Randi Pippins Welborn; a stepbrother, Randall Pippins Jr.; and her beloved dogs, 18 Katniss and Chai; and Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 27 SLS 162ES-226 ORIGINAL 1 WHEREAS, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Randy Pippins; maternal 2 grandparents, Russell and Jeanette Gonsoulin Richard; paternal grandparents, Mildred Buie 3 McAllister Hubbard and James McAllister, and a nephew, Zechariah Annen; and 4 WHEREAS, with the death of Lacee' Brooke Richard, Louisiana has lost one of its 5 finest daughters, a quintessential southern young lady who loved her community and whose 6 accomplishments have left an indelible mark upon her community, state, and nation; and 7 WHEREAS, the death of Lacee' Brooke Richard has left a substantial void in the 8 Baton Rouge community and a sense of loss in the citizens whose lives she touched, and her 9 memory shall live forever in the minds and hearts of all those who knew and loved this 10 remarkable young lady. 11 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana 12 does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of Lacee' Brooke 13 Richard and extends enduring appreciation for the tremendous pride and honor that she will 14 forever bring to the Baton Rouge community, the state of Louisiana, and the United States 15 of America. 16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the 17 family of Lacee' Brooke Richard.
